The weather in Rio is very hot in the summer with temperatures rising above 100F some days (usually in February) but the average from December to March is 85F and from April to November is 78F. The coldest months are June, July and August with an average temperature of 74F.

The main attractions are the beaches, the famous Ipanema with a dedicated section for the gay community and just across from Farme do Amoedo Street which is the gayest street in Rio.  In Copacabana beach the gay section is right in front of Copacabana Palace hotel. There is a gay nude beach called Praia da Reserva between Barra da Tijuca and Reserva.

Rio also known as the “Marvelous City,” has much more to offer besides the incredible beaches, nightlife and saunas, you will find many attractions that should not be missed such as Christ the Redeemer Statue, the Botanic Garden, the Sugar Loaf Mountain, a trip to Buzios, Petropolis or Parati also should be on your list of things to do while in Rio.
