Playa del Carmen Gay Marriage – Gay Weddings
In December 2012 Mexico’s Supreme Court Declared Anti Gay Marriage Law Unconstitutional. The Supreme Court has ruled that a law in southern Oaxaca state that bans gay marriages is unconstitutional, paving the way for gay marriages in that state and possibly in the rest of Mexico.
The court said in its ruling that to condition marriages to the union of one man and one woman “violates the principle of equality.” Currently, same-sex marriage is only legally allowed in Mexico City, where a gay marriage law was enacted in 2010.
Mexico current laws allow gay marriages just in Mexico City, yet Cancun and Playa del Carmen should be under the same law very soon because of a break in legislature. That is no reason for you to delay your symbolic Playa del Carmen gay Wedding or renewal of vows. There are many resorts in the Riviera Maya that perform Gay Weddings in this very romantic and unique Mexican Caribbean paradise.
