Playa del Carmen Restaurants

Eating Out in Gay Playa del Carmen is a big delight!

Home to many varied cuisines Playa del Carmen restaurants cater to every taste and to the gay community. From “hole in the wall” local Mexican fare to the finest dining anywhere!

Other than the local resort dining rooms, most of the better and safer places to eat are located on or in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue. There you will find Argentinian, Italian, Mexican, International, Brazilian, French, American, and many other cuisines available in every price range.

GG Restaurant Gigi Restaurant – Italian

Many local restaurants we have patronized and many we haven’t made it to yet. We recommend the most gay friendly restaurants we know of for our visitors. One Playa del Carmen restaurant we love is one Italian fine dining place where the food & service can’t be beat, GG Restaurant is a gay friendly restaurant and includes a 10% discount coupon you can print here and bring with you, just because they want the gay business!

El Diez Playa del CarmenEl Diez – Argentinian

On 5th Avenue and the corner of 30th Street you will find this Argentinian restaurant that is part of a chain owned by two men from Mexico City that own restaurants all over Mexico. Both the food and the service are very good. They serve everything from steak to pizza, pasta, sandwiches and burgers — prices are reasonable.

Piola Restaurant Playa del CarmenPiola Restaurant – Italian

Close to the beach on 38th Street, Piola serves excellent food and tends to have a very busy bar. The waiters are very friendly and efficient, but the lighting in the evening is not great, so be prepared to read your menu by candle light. Small electric candles are on every table. Almost all meals can be ordered in small or regular sizes and a meal here will not break the bank.

Senor Frog's Restaurant Playa del CarmenSenor Frog’s – Mexican

Conveniently located right beside the Ferry Dock to Cozumel. A waterfront establishment where you can eat on the beach or inside the restaurant. The Mexican food here will be hard to beat. Service is good and the food is good, but a little bit pricy. There is a large circular bar in the center of the inside dinning area which seams to cater to nightlife for tourists.

La Cueva del Chango Restaurant Playa del CarmenLa Cueva del Chango – Mexican

This rustic Mexican restaurant is located near the beach right across the Street from Piola. This Playa del Carmen restaurant atmosphere is unique, the menu is limited, the food is generally good, but the service can be slow when they are busy. We recommend this restaurant more as a lunch spot than anything else. Prices are reasonable.
